We’re just settling back into life in the UK after an incredible week at the Sicilian Spirit Retreat Centre, nestled in the heart of the Madonie National Park. This was our first time hosting a yoga retreat in Sicily at this stunning 17th-century site, and it completely exceeded our expectations.
The Masseria, as they call it, has been in the same family for hundreds of years —25 hectares of private parkland, centuries-old oak woods, a peaceful river, and a labyrinth garden that felt like stepping back in time.
Over the course of the week, our guests immersed themselves in daily yoga and meditation sessions, dynamic and restorative practices led by Rosanna and me. Each day also included time to relax, explore, and connect with others, whether it was enjoying a vegetarian brunch on the terrace, sipping herbal tea in the lounge, or unwinding in the pool overlooking the mountains.
We also had the pleasure of exploring some of Sicily’s gems. A highlight was our trip to the coastal town of Cefalù, where we swam in the turquoise Mediterranean, wandered the vibrant streets, and admired the impressive Norman cathedral. Another memorable excursion took us to Gangi, recently voted Italy’s most beautiful village, and it certainly lived up to the title—quaint streets, stunning architecture, and that unique Sicilian charm.
Back at the retreat centre, the combination of nature, luxury, and wellness made for a truly rejuvenating experience. We had the most joyful and expressive chef that kept everybodies spirits high and bellies full!
Our retreat guests had time to rest in the yoga space, terraces, swimming pool, and the quiet corners of the Masseria, allowing them to find moments of calm whenever they wished. Walking trails through the surrounding park offered perfect opportunities to connect with the natural beauty of Sicily, and some guests even indulged in Ayurvedic treatments and massages.
The week was not only about relaxation and self-care—it was also about community and connection. We loved seeing everyone share experiences, bond over meals, and participate fully in workshops and mindful practices. The atmosphere was one of warmth, joy, and mindful presence. We also celebrated my 37th birthday on the island!
We’re already looking forward to returning next year for another week of yoga, mindfulness, and Italian sunshine, from 26th September to 3rd October 2026. If you’d like to be among the first to join us, we have an early bird offer available until the end of this month. More info here
Thank you to everyone who joined us this year and made it such a special week. For those who missed out, we can’t wait to welcome you next year—you truly don’t want to miss the magic of Sicily in the fall! Some photo highlights are below
